SURTEC is proud to continue its dedication to fostering innovation and sustainability, offering students the opportunity to explore new solutions that drive eco-friendly practices in manufacturing. In July 2024, we partnered with a group of exceptional students (referred as the “JR Teams”), who participated in National Central University (NCU)’s ERP Internship Consultant Training Program. This collaboration was centered around the integration of carbon footprint data into an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system— an innovative concept aimed at enhancing the accuracy and comprehensiveness of environmental impact assessments for companies.
The core objective of the project aims at simulating carbon footprint calculations using an ERP system to create a conceptual design that lays the groundwork of future advancements in mindful sustainability practices. SURTEC provided the JR Teams with a detailed carbon footprint Excel data, allowing students to write custom code for simulating carbon footprint impact using existing ERP modules. Although there were some limitations that hindered students from proceeding more effective calculation, the JR Teams overcame challenges and provided valuable implementation insights that earned them second place in the case competition.
At SURTEC, we firmly believe in empowering the next generation of innovators. We extend our warmest congratulations to the team for their impressive achievement. This project not only allows students to find innovative ideas into business systems but also a novel concept that brings SURTEC closer to its vision of integrating sustainability with technological innovation.
We remain committed to supporting academic collaborations and offering students hands-on experience in developing eco-conscious solutions for corporate sustainability challenges. SURTEC looks forward to continuing our journey towards innovation and sustainability— providing opportunities for students to engage in groundbreaking projects that will contribute to our more sustainable future.
